Khorasan, the Taliban and Yvonne Riddley

In my last post I did put the Taliban in a more positive light. I do not want people to misunderstand my intentions.

I do not support the Taliban. I also do not oppose the Taliban. This is ONLY because I have no first hand knowledge about them and what they are really doing. I think this way about them now only because of the mass lying and miss-communication that is propagated around the world by the media of the world.

What I do support is any attempt to bring about a rule where Allah (Subhanahu Wata-allah) , the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) are what is followed. If there are those amongst the Taliban who strive for this, who make sure they do not exceed the limits set by Allah (Subhanahu Wata-allah) and his Messenger (S.A.W) and follow their teachings - then they have my support.

There are a number of Hadiths that mention Khorosan. However, none of the Hadiths are present in Sahih Bukhari. It is mentioned, however, in Tirmidhi among other Hadith books.

Related by Abu Hurayrah: The Prophet Sallallahu ‘Alaihi Wa Sallam said: "(Armies carrying) black flags will come from Khurasan (Afghanistan). No power will be able to stop them and they will finally reach Jerusalem where they will erect their flags." (Tirmidhi)

Quite a few politicians and scholars and students of history have mentioned that the heart of the area that was Khorasan is modern day Afghanistan. A land that was not colonized when the British were colonizing the world. A land that the Soviet Union was not able to get a hold of. It is now a land that America has been fighting a war for close to 10 years and there is no sign of victory.

I personally believe that the struggle currently going on in Afghanistan will bring about a rule of Islam that will follow the Quran and Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) in that region. At this time, it is too premature for me to say anything apart from that. I watch closely and hope that through the struggles, through the fighting, the bad will be distilled and the core will be purified.

Hardships and trials make us stronger and also separate the weak of faith from those who are strong in their faith. I believe that the struggle currently ongoing in Afghanistan will bring about people with strong faith in Allah and his Messenger (S.A.W) and who will not transgress the limits set down by Allah and his Messenger (S.A.W).

Allah said in the Quran...

Surah 2: 2-4 (The Spider)

(2) Do men imagine that they will be left (at ease) because they say, We believe, and will not be tested with affliction?

(3)
Lo! We tested those who were before you. Thus Allah knoweth those who are sincere, and knoweth those who feign.

(4)
Or do those who do ill-deeds imagine that they can outstrip Us? Evil (for them) is that which they decide.
(Pickthall)

This entire life is a test. As an avid video game player - I can make a simple analogy.

Every moment in our lives, we are faced with choices or decisions. Something as small as staring at the lovely lady passing by the road to larger decisions like whether one should take a loan on interest to buy a house. Much like an adventure or a role-playing game, different choices have different consequences and we play through each scenario until we get the best result or the one that we want.

Too bad there is no reset button. Allah has said numerous times that we will be judged on the day of judgment about EVERYTHING that you used to do. The two angels on each of our shoulders are the game keepers.

Those who truly fear God more than anything or anyone else in this world will strive to be on guard so that they do not transgress the limits that He has set down. Every scenario in our lives has the possibility to strengthen that faith if we keep our guard up and fear Allah.

In the same way, I believe that those who are in Khorasan right at this moment, there are those who will probably fail the trials of Allah and there will be those few who will pass the trials of Allah - Allah knows best. I believe that those who will pass these harsh trials will be a group of people with mighty faith and fear of Allah and an example for those to come.

Last night, I saw a presentation given by Yvonne Riddley. She was an English journalist who was captured by the Taliban in Afghanistan and later released. She converted to Islam a couple or a few years later.

I rarely show emotion, but her presentation brought tears to my eyes - Subhan-Allah.

Below are the Videos of her presentation for any who have yet to see it.

Dear Haris. The hadith of Khorasan is a weak hadith. Traditionally the area of Khorasan was that of present day Iran, though the borders of ancient Iran were up to Kandahar, but when they say Khorasan, actually they mean Iran. The present day Afghanistan with its capital Kabul was never part of Khurasan. The hadith was probably fabricated in favo of Abu Muslim Khorasani whose army had black flags. He made repeated attempts to win over his rivals and for this purpose he invented this hadith. The Taliban way of promoting Islam is contrary to Islamic teachings, they are ruthless murderers. Through out their rein they didn't allow some of the main resistance leaders to come back to Afghanistan, like Hikmatyar and Rasool Syaf. Eevn they didn't allowed Qazi Hussain ahmed of Jamaat islami to come to Afghanistan. Its true that one lady converted to Islam, but how many non-Muslims they captured and how many they killed and how many have been released after taking ransom money? Probably that figure goes into thousands? Mansoor

I am aware of the weak nature of the Hadith. There are however multiple occurrences of this Hadith in books including Tirmidhi.

But at the end of the day, I take the Hadith as food for thought.

Historical Khorasan is the geographic region spanning north-eastern Iran, northern and western Afghanistan, as well as the southern parts of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

However, the boundaries of the region are debatable and controversial as many people have different views. For example...

According to the Afghan historian, Mir Ghulam Mohammad Ghobar, Afghanistan's current territories form the major portion of Khorasan. Ghobar talks of Proper Khorasan and Improper Khorasan and according to him, Proper Khorasan contained regions lying between Balkh (in the East), Merv (in the North), Sistan (in the South), Nishapur (in the West) and Herat, known as The Pearl of Khorasan, in the center.

Regarding my support for the Taliban, I made it quite clear that I support those who follow Allah (S.A) and his Messengers (M.P.B.U.T). Like I state in the post, I am certain that there many among the Taliban who transgress the boundaries set down by Allah, however I also believe that there are a few there who would be following the right guidance.

I will not say anything about who the Taliban have killed or what crimes they have committed or what atrocities they have done - only because I have no knowledge of what is ACTUALLY happening there. Given that the land is so rich in resources and is sought after by nearly the "whole world" as history has shown - one must be careful before jumping to conclusions.

You and I both agree that the Khorasan Hadith are weak, But would it be appropriate to derive from weak hadith such directives to kill or to be killed? I am not implying that the afghan resistance against the occupation fores is wrong, what I mean is that this particular religious basis is not correct. About the Khorasan you are right that some modern day scholars have named it as proper and improper khorasan because geographical boundaries of a particular country/continent changes with passage of time as England was different 100 years ago. The Khorasan in the first Hijri was the area that included Balkh and Herat and it didn't include Kandhar or the Kabul. (See the wikipedia article and the map for this.) The Heart and Balkh (were and even now) Persian or non-Pashto speaking areas and as the afghan resistance is predominantly Pashtun, the hadith even if it's true could hardly be applicable to the current afghan resistance.

I am surprised that why people get afraid when islam is brought into this fight going on in the all the muslim worlds. We all know that Prophet Muhammad (Sallallahu Alaihe Wassalam) has forbidden any muslim to fight under the banner of a force whose stated objective is other then "a'ala Kalimatullah or defending ones property, life and dignity".

We all know that in today's world no force other than taliban or mujahideen in other parts of the world have declared their objective in line with the Hadith. We are 100% sure that muslim country's armies are not fighting for this cause. Therefore, when this is clear, we have to focus on another Hadith stated in Muslim that (summary is given) " one jamah of muslims would always fight with the enemies of Allah", this jamah has to be the mujahideen.

Islam has to be associated with those people who are clearly declaring their objective as implemenntation of shariah.

We have to support them until we have the evidence that clearly shows that their objective is not infact the implementation of shariah. We cannot discredit them just be saying that these ppl have committed such and such mistakes so they cannot be termed islamic. Sahabah also made errors but they were never reprimanded for even big errors. We need to have a better understanding of the seerah of the prophet. Our understanding is based on some events that are usually highlighted in the media by munafiq Leaders and their stooges. We should know about all those events of seerah that are kept hidden from the eyes of public.

Remember, Hazrat Ali Raziallah u anhum stated that whenever you have confusion about the true "Hizbullah" then see that where has the Hizbushaytan pointed all its arrows. We can clearly see that all arrows are pointed towards the taliban or taliban linked ideology or even more precisely Al qaeda or alqaeda linked ideology.

well i have something to say as long as the authenticity of the hadith of khorasan is concerned i can say its not a weak hadith infact not only sahih buukhari and sahih muslim hadith are strong but there are other hadiths as well which are true and let me tell u something that the jews know about islam more than we do and they also studied hadiths because they know holy prophet(p.b.u.h) is allah's messenger but they deny it because they have corrupted hearts. why america have been fighting in afghanistan for the last 10 years have u ever noticed this why only afghanistan!!??? and still they are not leaving afghanistan. why????????? what do they see in afghanistan other than sand, barren mountains and poor people!!!! afghanistan is one of the poorest countries and stillamerica is after it why? the answer is that the west is very much awared of the khorasan hadith and they too believe that afghanistan is the one land where true muslims live there are not much true muslims in pakistan, noor in iran, nor in any other country. everyone is trapped in the gog and magog globalization. allt he money is going to the jews who are sitting on every big bank of the world. they are controlling the world through america at the moment. so the point is that they are facing threats only from afghanistan and the threat for israel at the moment is pakistani nukes so khorasan is a land which includes northwest pakistan, whole of afghanistan and some part of iran . iranians are mostly shias and to be honest shias have some unneccessary religious activities which ALLAH would not certainly like . the people who are fighting for islam in the true sense are the afghanis and still no one can defeat them. i telll u a time is coming when afghanistan will be again recaptured by talibans and then when dajjal appears they will rise with imam mehdi who will be not a shia i speak again he will not be a shia he will be the one who will follow sunnah. so hadith of khorasan is not weak. infact the world will never end unless truth triumphs over falsehood and in the end its always the truth which wins. its my humble request to wake up and support the talibans resistance. i m not seaking about pakistani talibans they are not talibans they are RAW , and american agents. they are infiltrated in pakistan to make pakistan unstable so that the west can capture pakistani nukes. i m a pakistani so i know better. so stop thinking that its only iran. the amries of khorasan will be mixture of many muslims from all over the world but the march will start from the afghanistan region . i believe that that march has already been started by talibans and the real march will take place when imam mehdi will appear. so pray for the muslims all over the world. many hardships are still to come before islamic victory so be prepared.
